Tino Di Biase; Photographer
KCS photography has been shooting weddings for the past 28 years on a full time basis. Started by its founder and creative director Tino Di Biase back in 1987, who although still supervising all the creative aspect of the studio, has passed its leadership onto the next generation – mainly his four children and long time associates.
Tino– ‘has loved pictures since the day he was born’, is usually how he’s been described by those whom have know him since childhood. ‘If you wanted to keep him quiet’ his mother has said ‘I’d just give him a magazine with photos’ and he’d be there all day looking at it, happy as a lark. With four children to raise and wanting to raise them themselves, Tino and Rita – his wife – decided from the very beginning to run the business out of their home – from where they still do to this day after 28 years.
Through the years as his 4 children became of age, they ‘automatically’ became his assistants are all involved in the studio in various capacities– from shooting to editing, as well as sales. The four have also been responsible for bringing the studio into the digital age with Facebook, Instagram and all other various social networking platforms. Not only did being home based made raising a family so much easier and the whole process more intimate, but has allowed for a ‘lower overhead’ which in turn allows for lower prices to the client – about 30% lower than those of a ‘unit based’ photographer.
Our Approach to Wedding Photography:
1st Meeting: Our mantra in dealing with our clients has and still is ‘give the client what you’ve promised and more’. With us, everything revolves around the personality of the couple: we sit with the couple and try to find out who they are – extroverts, introverts?…do they like being photographed?…do they prefer candid, posed or a combination of both? We try and find out what sort of look they want based on wedding photography samples they’ve researched on the web or magazines. Normally we encourage them to have an ‘eng shoot’ with us to see ‘how we work together’ + what they like and don’t like ie: poses, angles, backgrounds etc. Everything discussed and agreed upon is written onto a plain ‘letter of agreement’ that we go through with the couple – line by line – so that they understand everything.
We also guarantee that all the necessary information will be given to them prior to signing on with us and that there will be no ‘hidden costs’ after the fact. We also have a design studio that looks after any printing that the couple might want ie: albums, portraits, thank you cards etc. Our albums can accommodate up to 300 photos and can be printed on a whole variety of papers to ensure maximum customization. All in all we are a complete Photography and Videography studio equipped to satisfy all of our clients needs that our 28 years in business has so well prepared us for. Our end goal is of course a five star review, which means we’ve delivered everything the client expected and more – ‘we’ve earned our money’ in other words.
On the Day of the Event:
His approach to wedding photography has always been to offer the couple the best of both worlds – both candid and posed photography. Each wedding is photographed by a team of two photographers, one devoted solely to candid photography – while the main photographer will deal mainly with posed as well as some candid. This is also true with our Videography, where we shoot it with two cameras: one following the couple – capturing what is going on immediately around them, while the second camera deals with everything else – ‘the moments happening away from them’.
After the Event:
All the photography will be delivered to the client on a usb stick, which will contain all the ‘raw’ files as well as all the ‘edited’ files, which the client will keep and use for future personal printing. All the images are High Res – which means you can print any image you want to any size you want with no trouble at all. There are no watermarks on any of the images and all copyright belongs to the client. The videography will be delivered either on a usb stick in a MP4 format or discs as per clients choice. The final product will include a 20 minute version of the video as well as a full length 1 to 1/12 long version. Client gets to approve a ‘preview’ version before the final copies are made.
Great Savings
Remember that ‘home based studios’ are 30% less than a ‘unit based studio’. So we invite to come and visit us in our home – we’re located near Wonderland – for a casual first meeting, where we can sit and chat over an espresso.
